Courage Under Fire
A terrific onslaught of writing and performances put Courage Under Fire easily in the ranks of
superb film-making. Starring Denzel Washington, Meg Ryan, and an army of familiar faces, the
only downfall of the film is the barrage of language.
With U.S. troops returning from battle, Lt. Colonel Nathaniel Serling (Washington) is given the
duty of reviewing candidates for the medal of honor. His first assignment being for the first
woman ever to receive such recognition (Ryan), Serling begins to review the events pertaining
to this deceased woman being considered. However, when the stories from different witnesses
fail to coincide with one another, Serling begins to put together the pieces of a much
different story, all the while dealing with his own dark secrets from the war.
Parental Note: Major Language, Violence
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen version
of the movie. The mastering is excellent, as are the few extras.
