Dave
Dave Kovic (Kevin Kline) is one of those guys with one of those faces, and working his life away
in the efforts of finding others work, his uncanny resemblance to the President of the United
States finds him more than just comical side jobs, but the role of a lifetime.
Looking for someone to fill those "just show your face and smile" situations for the President,
"Dave" soon finds himself walking the halls of the White House. Things though take a
turn for the worse when the President falls into a coma after a stroke, leaving a naive Dave
and a scheming Chief of Staff (Frank Langella) to run the country. In yet another twist, the
First Lady (Sigourney Weaver) and Dave catch onto the dark side of the charade, and in a turn
of the tables, take control of the situation and fill the American dream of running the country
not for the powerful and greedy, but for the poor and innocent.
A wonderful story, it is only enhanced by superb acting by greats as Kline, Weaver and Langella
along with such stars as Kevin Dunn, Ving Rhames and Ben Kingsley. Truly one not to miss, this
movie as a comedy classic certainly has my vote.
Parental Note: Sexual Content
The disc is double sided - single layered and contains the original widescreen and full frame
pan and scan versions of the movie. The mastering is excellent, but there are few extras.
