Dudly Do-Right
A great cast and crew directing, writing and staring in a film, especially with a popular theme, usually promises to be a wonderful movie. However, with "Dudley Do-Right," the classic cartoon character of Rocky and Bullwinkle, it manages to defy all the odds, unfortunately resulting in a less than intelligent real-life portrayal.
Scamming a small town into his possession, Snidely Whiplash (Alfred Molina) is as usual up to no good, driving the residents out of their homes and out of town, only to fake a gold rush and drive greedy treasure hunters in and prices up.
Now with nearly no one to stop him, the bumbling Canadian Mountie Dudley Do-Right (Brendan Fraser) is all who is left to defend justice. Out-numbered, out-gunned and out-smarted, it appears Dudley is simply out-done, but when Snidely steals away Dudley's girl Nell Fenwick (Sara Jessica Parker), that is the last straw and turning to a local hermit (Eric Idle), Dudley is trained and given the strength to out-wit his wily adversary.
Although not the brightest or captivating movie, remembering it is directed at a younger audience, we are more likely to find them discovering the movie's true entertainment value.
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen version of the movie. The mastering is terrific, but the extras few.
