Frankenstein
Based on the chilling tale written by Mary Shelly in the 1800s, Boris Karloff helps bring to
life the lifeless as Dr. Frankenstein's ghastly ghoul. A true classic of the monster movies,
this movie would forever change our image of the monster that would become known by the name of
its creator "Frankenstein."
Experimenting with electricity and light in a lonely tower, the brilliant Dr. Frankenstein with
the help of his assistant Vincent gather body parts from graves and gallows to piece together a
creature. Now lifeless upon the operating table, all that is needed is a brain, and when
Vincent unknowingly brings back the brain of a violent criminal, only trouble is to follow the
doctor's attempt to return life to the lifeless.
Not near as scary or believable as it may have been in the 1930s, this movie still holds a
prominent place in the world of monster movies and definitely in the life of Boris Karloff
whose career would forever change after this, his first monster movie.
Parental Note: Minor Violence, Frightening Scenes
