Galaxy Quest
A must see movie, Galaxy Quest takes you on an out of this world journey where no cast of
a classic television series has been before.
Blast off with the crew of the NSEA Protector, Commander Quincy Taggart played by Jason Nesmith
(Tim Allen), Lt. Tawney Madison played by Gwen DeMarco (Sigourney Weaver), Dr. Lazarus played
by Alexander Dane (Alan Rickman), Tech Sergeant Chen played by Fred Kwan (Tony Shalhoub),
Laredo played by Tommy Webber (Darly Mitchell) and Guy Fleegman (Sam Rockwell) as they struggle
through life 20-years after their 3-season show was canceled. Typecast to the characters they
played on the TV show Galaxy Quest, they are now left to trek from one fan convention to
another as the only work they can find.
Near the end of their rope, they are greeted by some truly far-out fans from the Klatu Nebula.
Believing at first these to be just over zealous fans, they are dismissed as such until they
learn these aliens, receiving the transmissions of the show and not understanding the concept
of acting, took them to be historical documents. Now with the entire existence of this race
upon the shoulders a group of actors believed to be heros, they have little choice but to help
defeat a deadly alien race or have more than their show canceled.
Filled to overflowing with terrific writing, acting, action, adventure, effects, laughs, story,
music, directing, photography and more, this incredible movie is one not to miss.
Star Trek fans are sure to get a big laugh out of the many spoofs such as the show's name
(Galaxy/Star - Quest/Trek), Alien Salutes (like use of chest communicators), costumed fans
(some look like Klingons), ship design (many facets such as the bridge), as well as a wonderful
scene of them leaving space port (used in two early Trek movies) and many more... see if you
can find them all.
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen version of the
movie. The mastering is excellent, as is tbe assortment of extras.
