The Great Waldo Pepper
The mid 1920s were exciting times for many in America. With the first world war over and the
airplane quite new to many, this was the perfect opportunity for returning ace pilots to show
off their stuff to astounded audiences.
Waldo Pepper (Robert Redford) was just one of these pilots, and his dreams joining his plane
among the clouds, he flew under the name of The Great Waldo Pepper. Going from a one man show
to flying death defying tricks in air shows, his often ill-fated career tried to keep him
grounded, but his love for flying always kept his spirits flying high.
A highly entertaining movie, high-flying edge-of-your-seat action and aerial photography will
take your breath away. Mixed with great acting from Robert Redford as well as such recognized
faces as Susan Sarandon, Margot Kidder and Geoffrey Lewis, the only downfall of the picture is
that it spends a little too much time in with its head in the clouds and its feet not on the
ground, with little human emotion shown following sadder situations and more momentous
moments.
Parental Note: Minor Language
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the full frame pan & scan version of the
movie. The mastering is terrific, but there are few extras.
