Kingdom Come
With the passing of her husband, the family of Raynelle Slocumb (Whoopi Goldberg) come together to pay their last respects, but each struggling desperately through life in their own way, it is about to be far from an ordinary gathering.
Plenty of superb stars such as LL Cool J, Anthony Anderson, Vivica Fox and Toni Braxton lend their talents to the movie, but buried in extensive dialog, it tends to be a bit much. In addition for a movie's main purpose being to entertain, there tends to be more than its fair share of pain and suffering which barely ever lets up. Overall, a superb cast with plenty of potential is the only thing that manages to keep this movie from being a total disappointing hour and a half.
Parental Note: Minor Language, Adult Situations
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original 2.35:1 widescreen version of the movie, not 1.85:1 as listed on the packaging. The mastering is excellent, as are the several extras.
