Portrait of a Lady
Nicole Kidman after inheriting wealth from a late uncle, finds her life turned upside down as she is conned into marrying into a family full of greed and deception. John Malkovich plays the newly acquired strong willed husband who wants only the best for those around him without the slightest care of how they may feel themselves. The movie features terrific costuming, sets and camera work, but unfortunately it seems to drag on and on without really going anywhere.
The disc is double sided - single layered and contains both the widescreen and pan & scan versions of the movie. The mastering is terrific, and extras consist of cast and crew bios, as well as the theatrical trailer.
