Romancing the Stone

Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner) is a hopeless romantic, always waiting for that special someone to come along. In the meantime, she spends her time as a romantic novelist, writing about her dreams of adventure and romance. What she is about to discover are some dreams come true.

When a mysterious package arrives from South America, followed by a desperate phone call from her sister, she soon finds herself off on an adventure that would change her life forever.

Upon arriving in south America, she mistakenly gets on the wrong bus, only to find herself deep in the jungles. Her package containing a long lost treasure map only adds to the problems as desperate thugs and treasure hunters (including Danny DeVito) are hot on her trail, letting little stand in their way. That is except for a brave stranger who emerged from the depths of the jungle to save the day.

Now with all her hopes of survival depending on this man, Jack T. Colton (Michael Douglas), she begins to live the action and romance she had only wrote of in her novels.

A fantastic movie, it combines great acting and writing with a wonderful mix of action, adventure and romance. In the end, you are left with little need of a treasure map to discover this classic piece of movie making.

The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original widescreen version of the movie. The mastering is terrific, but there are few extras.
