Superstar
Likely the only super this movie is going to see will be within its name every time it is mentioned. Apart from a handful of far from highly humorous moments, the movie is a far cry from that "S" word.
Starring the very funny and talented Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell among many other familiar faces, we are treated to a disappointing and doomed story of a nobody who dreams of being a "Superstar," letting no one stand in her way.
You are not likely to remember anything more from this movie than a girl making out with a tree and who once nervous, sticks her fingers into her armpits only to stiff them afterwards, nothing you would have missed from watching the trailer and nothing remotely close to great comical writing.
With the talented writer and comedian of "Kids in the Hall," Bruce McColloch directing and Lorne Michaels of "Saturday Night Live" producing, not to mention talent from both shows in front of the camera, we would expect something super, but are left with something from it... a movie far from being a superstar.
Parental Note: Sexual Overtones, Minor Language
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original widescreen version of the movie. The mastering is excellent, but there are few extras.
