Receiving a standard human style S.O.S. signal in deep space, the USS Enterprise arrives at a world that appears identical to Earth. On the surface, they discover a run-down city eroded by time and inhabited by children. With adults an extinct species, apparently killed by a plague some 300 years earlier, the captain and crew are left with some puzzling questions and startling discoveries.
A truly classic episode, Captain Kirk must face grave odds in order to save himself and the rest of the away team.
The Conscience of the King - Episode 13 - Dec. 8, 1966
Kirk must once again remember a dark past when another survivor of a militant murderer points out to him the striking resemblance between a traveling theatre actor and the monster of 20-years ago. Now unsure of this man's true identity, Kirk one of the few alive who can recognize this man, must decide his ultimate fate.
Filled with terrific writing and acting, this proves no exception to the wonderful collection of episodes delivered by the original series.
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original full frame version of the program. The mastering is excellent, as are the few extras.
