Star Trek: Original Series: Vol 8
Written, created and produced by science fiction master Gene Roddenberry, we set course for
Talos IV, in the only two part episode of the original Star Trek series. Winning the science
fiction Hugo Award, Roddenberry, not wanting the show's pilot to go to waste, incorporated much
of it into this episode that takes us boldly where he had gone before... and beyond.
Apparently out of his mind, Spock after a short stop at Starbase 11, takes his previous and
critically crippled captain Christopher Pike, as well as control of the USS Enterprise,
plotting a course for Talos IV.
Now en route to this remote planet forbidden by Starfleet regulations and punishable by death,
Spock faces a court martial for his act of mutiny, but refuses to release the ship's computer
from its preset course.
Highly entertaining, this is a DVD to be cherished by sci-fi fans and especially by any Trekky/
Trekker. Now digitally mastered with extraordinary picture and sound quality, prepare for warp
speed into the next dimension of home entertainment.
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original full frame version of the
program. The mastering is excellent, as are the few extras.
