Star Trek: Original Series: Vol 17

Take a trip across the cosmos as Captain Kirk (William Shatner), Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelly), Scotty (James Doohan) and the rest of the crew onboard the U.S.S. Enterprise take us on an adventure among the stars, with two terrific classic episodes coming at us warp speed with volume 17, this DVD makes a great addition to any sci-fi fan's collection.

Who Mourns for Adonais? - A mysterious force that literally holds the ship in it's unbreakable grip, Kirk and a small landing party beam down to a nearby planet only to come face to face with the mighty Apollo of Greek mythology. Promising the crew of the Enterprise paradise in exchange for their worship, Kirk pleading for freedom, finds himself up against a powerful adversary with much different plans.

Amok Time - As a powerful urge comes over Spock, he is compelled to return to his home planet of Vulcan. Drawn to his planet by an age old Vulcan mating ritual, Spock beams down along with Kirk and McCoy to find himself in many a situation far beyond his control or desire. Of Note, this is the first episode to feature the Vulcan V hand salute created by Leonard Nimoy himself.

The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original full frame version of the program. The mastering is excellent, as are the few extras.
