Star Trek: Original Series: Vol 31
Continuing the stellar sci-fi series, volume 31 of "Star Trek: The Original Series"
delivers yet another two exciting and unforgettable episodes of classic television, remastered
to a quality no fan will want to miss experiencing.
Spock's Brain - Episode 61 - Approached by an unknown ship, an alien woman beams aboard
the Enterprise, stunning the entire crew. Waking up, Captain Kirk finds everything as before,
except the mysterious ship along with Spock's brain gone. Tracking down the synoptic of Spock
to a nearby planet, Kirk and crew are left puzzled by the fact its inhabitants appear in no
way to have the knowledge to perform such a complex surgery of removing Spock's brain, and
concerned by the fact no one appears to have the knowledge to put it back.
Technically entertaining, this is the first show to feature a rear projected view screen on the
bridge, something which the director showed off like a kid with a new toy, having someone walk
in front of it at every opportunity.
Is There in Truth no Beauty? - Episode 62 - Set to transfer a Medusan ambassador, Kirk
welcomes the passenger to the Enterprise, but al the while aware of the dangers, as
mind-numbing madness comes to any who dare to look upon a Medusan. Unfortunately for all, it
is this madness which drives the Enterprise beyond the boundaries of the universe with little
chance of ever returning.
Parental Note:Minor Violence
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original full frame version of the
program. The mastering is excellent, as are the few extras.
