Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home

As a strange alien probe makes its way toward Earth, transmitting an unfamiliar signal of immense power, it cripples all electronics in its path, leaving a wake of immobilized space ships and stations. Upon arriving at its destination Earth, the signal intensifies, vaporizing the oceans, creating immense storms and general havoc for the entire planet.

Currently on their way to this troubled planet, Admiral James Kirk (William Shatner) and his crew intercept a distress call from the planet. From a safe distance, they analyze the signal, discovering it to be the language of the long extinct Humpback whale. With little choice, in an attempt to return a couple of Humpback whales to the 23rd century, the crew at maximum warp slingshot around the sun, traveling back in time to Earth 1986.

Unaccustomed to the ways of the 20th century, fitting in proves to be about as difficult as calculating time travel for the crew. A romp through the lighter side of sci-fi, "Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home" directed by Leonard Nimoy (the same person who plays Spock) proves to be down-to-earth entertainment and education while being warp speed fun that is out of this world.
