Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away began a story so powerful it would capture an entire generation and change much of the way we look at movies.

Now a longer time ago in a galaxy just as far, far away, we are once again returned to the classic saga as Lucas returns behind the camera's lens and gives us the long awaited prequel to the Star Wars Trilogy.

"Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace" takes us back before the days of Luke and Leah, to a time when Obi-Wan is but a Jedi apprentice and Anikan Skywalker but a young boy; a time of somewhat better times in a galaxy far, far away.

So how does it fare in the shadow of such hype and expectations. Well not to be denied as a fabulous film, due to the amount of time and effort but into the film, it does suffer in a few areas. However, besides these, we are treated to a fabulous film with edge-of-your-seat lightsaber battles and a high flying and fast paced pod race filled with comical moments and fantastic cutting-edge computer graphics.

Overall highly entertaining, you are sure to enjoy and be awed at the massive amounts of detail in the special effects. And of course, one you will not want to miss if you are a fan of the original trilogy.

The two discs are single sided - dual layered, disc one containing the original widescreen version of the movie. The mastering is excellent, as are the many extras.
