The Twilight Zone: Vol.5
Travel to and experience a show not only of sight and sound, but also of mind, The Twilight
Zone. Volume five again shows the brilliant writing of Rod Serling, giving us a glimpse why
the series became so popular then and is still enjoyed many years later. With the four
wonderful episodes on this disc, we see people dealing with loss and loneliness, and how The
Twilight Zone lends a helping hand.
I Sing the Body Electric: May 18/1962 - Episode 100 - With the recent death of his wife,
a desperate husband turns to a robot to help look after his children. Now she must win the
hearts of the children, while taking the place of the mother they miss.
Long Distance Call: Mar. 3/1961 - Episode 58 - An episode sure to give you a chill, a
young boy very close to his grandmother receives a toy telephone just before her death. Now
gone, this young boy talks to his grandmother on the phone... with of course a little help from
The Twilight Zone.
The Lonely: Nov. 13/1959 - Episode 7 - One of the great Twilight Zone Classics, a man
serving a sentence of solitary confinement on a distant asteroid is left with little to fill
his time. That is until the man in charge of delivering supplies, feeling pity, leaves him a
robot companion in the form of a woman, one who could be a companion or just a reminder of his
loneliness.
Probe 7, Over and Out: Nov. 29/1963 - Episode 129 - A lone man traveling trough space
crashes onto a distant planet. Here he meets another crashed space explorer and together,
he - Adam and her - Eve, venture forth on the planet they not only name Earth, but must now
call home.
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original full frame version of the
program. The mastering is terrific, but with few extras.
