The Twilight Zone: Vol.8

There is a show as vast as space and timeless as infinity, it takes us on journeys beyond the imagination to a place known as The Twilight Zone. Volume Eight has us looking to the skies as we are treated to four fantastic episodes of the series. Filled with wonderful writing and classic acting, this is one of the better discs in the collection. Unfortunately though, a few episodes at moments show their age with some apparent film damage.

Third From the Sun: Jan. 8/1960 - Episode 14 - With a doomed planet on the verge of destroying itself, two men knowing time is short, plan to leave on a newly developed ship. But where indeed is their destination... somewhere not far beyond The Twilight Zone.

The Shelter: Sept. 29/1961 - Episode 68 - As possible bombs approach from afar, a small group of friends and neighbours are put to the test. Only one family having a bomb shelter, and big enough for just themselves, how far will his friends, determined to survive, go?

To Serve Man: Mar. 2/1962 - Episode 89 - Peaceful aliens land on earth, solving many of mankind's problems with their advanced scientific knowledge. Overly hospitable, many humans leave to visit their world by the thousands, while on Earth, those remaining continue to enjoy the new found benefits of their visitors. However, a strange book left by this race titled To Serve Man puzzles a group of code breakers trying to translate it, and with surprising results.

The Fugitive: Mar. 9/1962 - Episode 90 - A kind old man capable of wonderfully mysterious magic is the dear friend of every neighbourhood child, especially that of a young crippled girl. However, when two strangers show up looking for him, he is forced to decide between being caught or leaving his dear friend.

** **

The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original full frame version of the program. The mastering is terrific, but with few extras.
