Where the Heart is
Natalie Portman is Novalee Nation a young pregnant woman with big dreams, but when her boyfriend
leaves her stranded at a Wal-Mart, those dreams fade as she makes the department store her new
residence.
After several weeks though, she becomes a new comer to the baby department and checking out,
finds herself in the limelight as mother of the Wal-Mart baby. Now little more than a
struggling mother, she befriends Lexie Coop (Ashley Judd), an older but not necessarily wiser
women in a similar situation, actually several times over, who helps her deal with life's many
problems while finding herself in many of them herself.
A charming but not overly entertaining movie, Portman and Judd deliver fabulous performances
that save the movie from total disaster, but at the same time seem a near waste of their
efforts.
Parental Note: Minor Language, Adult Situations, Sexual Content
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen version
of the movie. The mastering is excellent, but there are few extras.
