TITANIC star Kate Winslet got a kick out of boarding Concorde in this stunning outfit yesterday.
The beauty, so elegant in her ocean liner movie, had switched to 1998 grunge-chic for the £6,000 supersonic flight.
Kate, 22, put her best foot forward in heavy brown hobnail boots. Only shapely bare leg showed between her short black socks and thigh-skimming mini-skirt. She wrapped up the look with a figure-hugging red V-neck top and black leather coat. And, as her blonde hair hung loose, just a touch of make-up let her natural beauty shine through. Kate was happy to give bystanders at London's Heathrow airport a close view of those army-style boots with their frayed laces. "These are to deter anyone from getting too close," she said, lifting one of the pair in a jokey threat. Kate was jetting off to New York as part of a new drive to promote Titanic. She told fans that she is "delighted'' by the movie's success. Titanic has taken £575million at box offices and is already filmland's biggest earner. Kate is tipped to win an Oscar when she goes head to head against fellow British actresses Dame Judi Dench, Helena Bonham Carter and Julie Christie on March 23. Meanwhile she is considering new projects - and grabbing chances to relax. She said: "I'm happily reading scripts. "But at the same time I'm rather more keen on being around in England and seeing my family."
