So, I guess you really do wanna hear what I have to say. Hmm... never would have thought it. Well, here's my take on all the Xena episodes. But be prepared sometimes it ain't pretty... sometimes it gets down right ugly...like that dress you had to wear to your cousin's wedding...feel free to disagree with me if you want. I won't hold it against you. Well, not for long.

9/29/97
The Furies
Ares has come up with another plot (insert evil laugh here) to get Xena back into his fold. The Furies torment Xena because she has failed to avenge her father's death...okay seems simple enough, but what if mamma killed pappa??? Oh no!!! Xena has to find a way to get out of this one.

10/6/97
Been There, Done That
The day is repeating...the day is repeating...the day is repeating (Okay...so you've now got the message) and Xena seems the only one who can remember it. She must stop a man getting run over, a girl from taking poison, a war breaking out between two houses and keep Gabrielle, Joxer and herself from getting killed. Why do these things always have to happen to Xena? For those of you who like to see Joxer met his maker, well your in luck...he dies three times in this episode...of course he comes back to life each time...damn.

10-13/97
The Dirty Half Dozen
Ares has given a new kind of metal to a warlord whose goal is to...you guessed it...take over the world. Xena, along with a team of criminals, must stop the god of war and his protege from launching an attack. Okay, teaming with a bunch of careers criminals...does this seem like a bad idea to anyone else or is it just me?

10-20/97
The Deliverer
Xena has a date with destiny and with Caesar...Julius Caesar. Xena travels to the island of Brittiana to help Bodecia fight the Romans. Payback time!!! But, of course, Gabrielle gets captured and all hell breaks loose...ah...I mean that literally. Gabrielle loses her blood innocence protecting Kraftstar, but this turns out to be a very bad idea. Lesson to be learned from this episode: Never, ever trust a guy wearing a kilt who has a weird name and prays to a god called Dahak.

10-27-97
Gabrielle's Hope
After a hellish time in the temple of Dahak, Gabrielle learns she is caring the child of darkness. The child is soon born, but Gabrielle is convinced that her child is born innocent just like every other child. Wasn't that what Rosemary said when her child was born? Baby Hope escapes with the help of her loving mother and the seeds of the infamous RIFT have been planted in the garden of Xena and Gabrielle's friendship....how's that for a colorful metaphor.

11-3-97
The Debt, Part I
Xena encounters a messager from "the weak one who's hard as water, but soft as the raging flood" and she begins to tell Gabrielle the story of her travels to the kingdom of Chin. Xena flashes back to a time when she rode with Borias, was still years away from redemption and when she was a very dangerous woman. We also get to meet another one of Xena's mentors, Lao Ma. This visual stunning episode is one of the best Xena episodes to date. Of course we have to give the writers credit for coming up with yet another way to have two woman lock lips onscreen. The ending is a shocker...

11-10-97
The Debt, Part II (Betrayal)
Still in the kindgom of Chin, Xena is jailed for attempting to kill the Green Dragon and we get to see more of what exactly Lao Ma meant to Xena. Gabrielle struggles with the guilt over betraying her best friend as fans struggle to understand what Gabrielle was thinking when she did what she did, but perhaps more puzzling than this is how she got to Chin before Xena...maybe there was a speedboat somewhere??? But you'll find this out later...wink-wink, nudge-nudge...ah just scroll down to Forget Me Not...

11-17-97
King Of Assassins
Joxer has a brother Jett who is an assassin and of course Joxer's brother looks exactly like him...can we all guess what happens? Gabrielle, Joxer and Autolycus must stop Jett from killing Cleopatra. Yep, this is a Joxer episode...as much as that pains me to say, but this was actually a really fun time. Never thought I would actually say that in regards to a Joxer episode, but its the truth.

1/12/98
Warrior...Priestess...Tramp
Okay...there seems to be yet another Xena double running around (that's three if you are counting) and this one is a Hestian Virgin Priestess...talk about an episode. This episode is a straight-forward identity crisis, switcharoo story, but Lucy's acting skills make it work. And hey, you've gotta love an episode with masturbation, S&M and beastuality jokes.

1/19/98
The Quill is Mightier...
The goddess of Love, Aphrodite, places a spell on Gabrielle's scroll which makes everything that she writes down come true...of course Gabrielle uses this power wisely...well, until things get a little wacky...but don't they always. I mean if you call Minya, gods without power and three naked, dancing Gabrielles wacky!!!

1/26/98
Maternal Instincts
The episode I have waited almost six months for...and it was definitely worth the wait. Hope is back!!! And she's brought Callisto with her...talk about a union of disfunction!!! The bonds of Xena and Gabrielle's friendship are tested and broken as secrets are revealed and loved ones lose their lives. You have to see to believe...

2/2/98
The Bitter Suite
All singing...all dancing...it's the Xena episode I've been waiting four months for (wow, this season has all been about waiting!!). And it is a feast for the eyes and ears...you'll be humming the tunes for days after. After parting ways, Xena and Gabrielle, launching each other over a waterfall, end up in the land of Illusia to work out the problems in their relationship...talk about a couple's therapy!! I LOVED IT!!!

2/9/98
One Against an Army
In the tradition of The Greater Good, this episode completely left me emotionally and spiritually fullfilled. Xena must fight off a invading army, the Persians, while attending to Gabrielle's life threatening arrow wound. Again, I can't make fun of this one...I loved it too much.

2/16/98
Forgiven
A tough-talking, bar-brawling sidekick wannabe wants to take Gabrielle's place along side Xena to straighten her life out and do good. One problem...Gabrielle wants to kill her!!! Well...it's understandable considering she beat her up and nearly got her killed. This episode was good and solid, but I didn't like it as much as others did (sorry Bliss). I guess it's not my cup of tea.

2/23/98
King Con
Okay, we all knew this was coming...Xena gets a love-interest. But before I start to rant and completely tear this episode to little pieces, let's get the plot outta the way. After Joxer gets beaten up by the son of a casino-owner (who knew they had Casinos in ancient Greece), Xena vows revenge and tries to Con the con man. Not only is this episode bad...it's really bad. Again, Xena has no chemistry with her man (who's name is Rafe...what kind of name is Rafe anyway???), but she completely does not act like...well...Xena. Oh no...she's lost her brain again. Hopefully, she'll have it back by next week.

3/2/98
When In Rome...
Guess who's back...Caesar...Julius Caesar. Have you ever had an ex that just won't leave you alone? In order to free of prisoner of war, Xena attempts to make a deal with the devil (that's Caesar just in case you were keeping track). I don't know about you, but isn't going after Caesar what got Xena into trouble in The Deliverer?? Just a question...anyway this was a really great episode full of everything. And it reminded me why I love this show so much...it remembers it's history. Gabrielle must deal with life and death issues, and you get to see how much has growth since season one. Great episode!!!

3/9/98
Forget Me Not
All your rift questions will be answered in this really great episode!!! How did Gabrielle get to Chin before Xena? Why did she do it? And who really saved Ulysses?!? Gabrielle must decide whether to get rid of her painful memories of betraying Xena or live with the ugly truth she discovers while in a memoryscape. Believe me, the truth is not pretty (especially if you are not a subtext fan), but it is GREAT to final see Gabrielle admitting she did something for selfish reason for a change. Definitely worth seeing...

4/13/98
Fins, Femmes, and Gems
Okay, just when you thought season three couldn't get any weirder...Gabrielle...vain? Xena...fish-obsessed? Joxer...a monkey man? Well, you've just entered the weird-zone of Xena episodes. I don't know how, but the actor and writers have actually pulled off what I thought was a very wacky and weird concept! Mega-subtext alert! Everything in this episode has a subtle layer (and sometimes not so subtle) layer of subtext hidden underneath the surface!

4/20/98
Tsunami
Oh no! Xena, Gabrielle and Autolycus are trapped inside of a ship that has turned upside down...they've only got one chance to make it....and it's risky, but hey, it wouldn't be a Xena episode if it wasn't risky! Not a great upside, but at least it was better than King Con...although...not by much.

4/27/98
Vanishing Act
The Statue of Pax has been stolen...it's the great heist of the century (BC) and Autolycus...King of Thieves...didn't do it...well, then who did? Xena must find out, recover the statue and help Autolycus regain his crown. A great episode not so much in substance, but in style...some good acting and great shots highlight what could have been a dull, very boring episode...but Renee just can't do accents. Poor Thing..

5/4/98
Sacrifice Part 1
Gabrielle's childhood friend Seraphin is involved in a new cult hoping to bring down Dahak's destruction to Earth by bring about the rebirth of the Goddess...HOPE. The spawn of EVIL that just won't die. Hope, with Callisto at her side, will bring out an end to life as they know it. And of course only Xena can stop it...the Olympian Gods are a bunch of pus..never mind! Xena must kill Hope. Only one catch...if Xena kills Hope, Xena will die. Seems Ares called in his favor for getting Gabrielle to Chin ahead of Xena. The episode ends with the favorite...To Be Continued...just as Hope emerges from her pod looking amazingly like her mother...oh, those clever, clever writers.

5/11/98
Sacrifice Part 2
It took me an entire summer to get over the events of this episode...I still cry just thinking about it...I just can't deal with...oh...I'm sorry. Hope emerges looking like Carrie after an accident with a tub of glue...and tries to kill her mother (talk about ungrateful...after Gabrielle carried for...well, a day), but she escapes. Pretty soon..Callisto decides to switch sides after Ares also decides to switch sides (swapping partners has become a nasty habit in the Xenaverse)...Hope, looking like Gabrielle, tries to learn the wearabouts of the famous Hindsblood dagger last seen in a Herk episode, but it has mysteriously disappeared...wow this is getting long. Well, to make a very long and complex story short..Gabrielle sacrifices her life to save everyone else's and Callisto meets her maker after making fun of Xena's pain. Ha..Ha..Let's see how this turns out shall me...
