- Renee interview in X-pose # 11.

This Gallery is dedicated to the one and only lovely Texas Amazon Queen who is the reason why I breath everday...okay, maybe this is a little too strong, but I think you can gather that Renee O'Connor has a special place in my heart (somewhere near Lucy Lawless's spot I think). I've actually seen Renee twice. Once was at the Valley Forge convention and the other was a fateful Tuesday night outside of "Grease." Anyway, this site is for all those ROC fans who share my strong feelings.

So, why do I love Renee so much? Well, it's not an easy question to ask. I can remember watching my very first episode of Xena, "Prometheus," and being completely drawn to the young woman on screen. Once the episode was over, I found myself wondering who the young woman was. Why had I never seen before? She was the human element that drew me into the show. I knew I could never be Xena in a million years, but Gabrielle was someone who I was who I could relate with. She loved to tell stories and was fascinated by the world around her. It was Renee's smile and sweetness that just shone through her character, and this is what kept me coming back for more every week.
My first close encounter with Renee was during her first convention appearance at Valley Forge. She completely charmed me and from that moment on I was a complete ROC fanatic. My actual encounter with her in the autograph line is complete and total blur as if it happened in a weird dream, but I do remember muttering "I loved you," but I promptly added, "in totally platonic way!" She laughed as she handed me back my signed Dirty Feet picture. My second enounter with Texas Amazon Queen was at Grease. She was at the show the Tuesday after the Valley Forge convention. As the time approached to their exit at the side of the theater, my stomach began to turn inside out. And once she emerged with Lucy by her side, I felt like I was about to toss my cookies (nice image I know, but hey, that's what I felt like doing). This time we were not separated by a table, but only a barracade so I actually got to see her really close when she signed another picture for me. Afterwards, I was on cloud nine.

Why I love ROC (Gabrielle):
One thing that has drawn me to her character besides her being
absolutely gorgeous would have to be her personality. in some ways her charcter's personality on the show is exactly like mine and I think that's what drew me to her. At first I was obssesed with Xena but turned away from her to Gabrielle. I can relate to her more in a sense then Xena. I love the way that she is a bard in the show...I think that's what draws me to her as well. She has a huge heart and always puts others before herself. The way she smiles and has that look in her eyes, especially the look in her beautiful green eyes! And her voice that sings like a bird, one that you could listen to all day and never get tired of it! We have many things in common(besides the voice). For example: We are the same height (she being 5'3" me being 5'2")Always looking out for out for people and always being there for them. As you pointed out they called "Vertically challenged" exactly what was
called back in highschool. She loves to act and read poetry like I do (well I would love to act but have stage fright) She has a best friend (Xena) that is a perfect match (personality wise) of my Girlfriend. And me the same way as gabby in show, looking up to her, loving her with all her heart and doing anything for her ,even giving up her life. Well here I am babbling, my words get jumbled when trying to talk about her. There are no words worthy of her. She is beyond words in my heart. I wish to be able to meet her some day, some place in time that only fate will bring us together even if it's just a glance across the room
would be good enough for me! Thank you for taking the time to read why I love ROC. Please respond if you would like to ask quesions or have comments it would be appreciated.

I love your lines you wrote about Renee O'Connor. She's my favorite charator on the show. Maybe, my favorite charactor/actor ever. For a while I was really into Highlander, but she stole the lime light from my eyes. The first time I watched the show, and noticed her "personality" I was hooked. Not to say her looks didn't draw me to the Series, but it was her personality that I love so much. I'd love to meet her, but I know I never will. I guess you could that she represents everything that is missing in the world today. Love, passion, beauty, faith, hope, vitality, valor, humor.... I can go on and on. But I'll leave it as this.
So now that I've completely embarrassed myself by revealing why I love Renee so much, it's your turn. If you got a Renee story to share or if you just wanna answer the question why you love Renee...email me for posting on this page!
