(2) Where a planet glyph has two background colors, this means that the planet rules two signs.
(3) If you place the mouse over a planet glyph additional information can be had, such as whether a planet is a day or night ruler as is the case when a planet rules two signs. As an example of this: When a person is born with the Sun below the Horizon (night birth) night rulers will be stronger that day rulers. This does not apply to the trans Saturnian planets (the planets after Saturn)
Modernists tend to neglect Dignities, and thereby lose a valuable tool. Although Dignities seem to be governed by the old saying: "If you have a good horse, there be no danger of flogging it to death". However: it is inescapable that; for example, if someone has Mars in Aries, then Mars and Aries will be emphasised strongly in that chart. I personally, use rulerships of planets, and exaltations, and leave it there.
