Wow, today there is news that Leon and Kelly is going to act as a couple in a movie. If this is true, I can check off another item in my wish list. Leon has been my idol since I was 11 years old and Kelly has been my favourite female singer for the longest time, from 1996 onwards. To me, the styles of both of them are quite alike, both in their songs and their images.

Song-wise, it is probably due to their common producer, Mark Lui. When Leon was doing hit ballads like 情深說話未曾講, Kelly was doing hit ballads like 誰願放手. When Leon was doing dance numbers like 全日愛, Kelly was doing dance numbers like 失憶週末, which were all my favourite songs at that time. Since their common producer is Mark Lui, I thought that they should have many chances of singing together, but from what I remember, they have only sung together in one Unicef song, and performed together in a concert called MARKELLEON, which I was not able to attend because I do not live in Hong Kong and worse, there was no DVD release or whatever. (Suddenly remember there is this Mark Lui Charity Concert last year as well.)

Image-wise, both have modern-looking pretty/handsome faces, which look odd if they act in wuxia movies. This is my reservation about this new movie as it is a wuxia movie. But given that the producer is going to be Peter Chan and image direction Yee Chung Man (if the news is all true), my confidence in this movie is rebuilt a bit. Anyway, this is truly a refreshing idea, to put 2 persons who have not acted as a couple before together and to let them act in a wuxia movie which both seldom/never acted in. I just need to pray hard that both their images in the movie turn out good :)
