The Wish

Geri Halliwell was laying in her bead, it had been a rugh day
reporters and media had been all over her, she just couldnt get Emma and the
rest of the girls sad faces off her mind.
It was the day that Geri had left the Spice Girls.
She cried, the tears ran down her cheeks, why?!
She wondered if she had made the right decission, couldntshe have stayed?
Then she shook her head, no, she couldnt live with that
enormous pressaue anymore, fame wasnt all as she had expected it to be.
Not that fun, just work work work.
Anyway, the night seemed endless, the dark hotelroom seemed to be hiding
all kinds of dark shadows. She was lonely, lonelier then she ever been.
No more power of 5, all by her self, in the big world.
She needed to get home, but where was it?
All the travelling had made it hard to identify anyplace as home. She was lonely.
Where did it all go so wrong? She could still hear Emmas words:
- Tell me that you’re joking Geri, we need you, I need you, you’re my
best friend! The tears just wouldn’t stop falling, everything was so wrong.
Why oh why?Geri closed her eyes and deeply wished for herself:
- I wish that I never would have joined the spice girls, I wish that
I just would be Geri, I wish that never would have joined the Spice Girls.
Then she slowly fell asleep, alone, but she didn’t know that out there
At the big black sky, a lonely star was falling.......
- Geri, sweetie, check out this sassy looking skirt! Zandra shouted all
over the store.Geri grabbed the silver shining skirt and looked at it carefully.
- Hmmm....really neat, but kinda expensive, dont ya think?
- Whatever, Zandra said, you would really look like a superstar in it.
- Yeah right, Geri said and smiled. Suddenly she felt something deep inside
Her, something felt wrong, wasn’t she suppose to like the idea of being famous?!
- Geri, watts the matter?- Nothing, Geri answered, I just thought of something.
- Come on, lets go get some coffee! Zandra said and pulled Geris arm.
A few minutes later the girls were at "The cafe of dreams" a place were
wannabes used to hang out.
Zandra was getting the coffee and Geri was just reading The Stage, which
she recently had bought.
Then an ad caught her intrest, it was about getting girls round up for
an all girl band. What a cool idea!
Geri read it and suddenly got this weird feeling again, but this time it
felt like she really should go to the audition.
- Geri, help me carry this tray! Zandra shouted.
Geri turned her head around and replied:
- Wait a sec, I’m just gonna cut this ad out.
Then she returned to her paper, but where was the ad?
She couldn’t find it, she looked trough the paper several times butit was gone.
That’s strange, she though for herself, well, I probarly wouldn’t have
made it anyway.
She putted the paper back in her bag and reached for her cup of coffee.
Then a dark feeling came over her.She felt empty.A few years later......
Geri slowly cleaned the last table.
It was about 4 in the morning and the bar was finally clean and empty.
She had worked there as a waitress and bartender for about 3 years now.
She walked against the jukebox, a catchy tun was playing.
It was that super popular girl group called "Thouch".
They have had some mayor hits during the last year and were just gettingbigger.
Somehow Geri had always felt very interested in them, she also though
that Michelle, one of the girls, didn’t quite seemed to belong there.
And she really liked that blond girl, Emma.
But she really didn’t like the name, a catchy group should have a catchy
name like "Spicy" or something. She felt empty. What was going on with her life?
She always felt miserable, she didn’t get any good jobs and her boy friend
had dumped her and left her with allot of bills.
Where had her life lusting feeling gone?
Geris thought were interrupted by the phone ringing.- Hello? She said.
- Is this Miss Geraldine Halliwell? a deep voice asked.
- Yes it is, Geri said. Why would anyone call her at this time?
- Well, Sheila has told me that you were in need to get some fast money.
Geri got cold as ice.
Sheila was the owner of the club and when Geri had told her about her
bills and that she
was one payment away from getting homeless, Sheila had offer her to get
a fast sum of moneyfrom a "friend".- Yeah, I’m interested, Geri said.
A few months later.
Geri walked slowly at the bridge, scars and bruises covered her body.
That night in the bar, Geri had got into trouble.
She kept borrowing money from Sheilas friend, but when she didn’t
managed to pay him back, he got mad, very mad.
Geri just cried, the pain inside of her was even bigger then her body’s pain.
She had nobody left, no friends and a family who she didn’t dare to
call, she didn’t want themto know that she had failed.
She reached into her pocket, a broken gold chain with a small hart on
laid in her hand.
She had gotten it from her mom at the age of 6, and she had always worn
it, but Tony, Sheilas "friend", had ripped it off her neck.
She squeezed it thigh in her hand.
Then she made up her mind, slowly she climbed up on the side of the bridge.
It was long to the water and Geri knew that both the fall and the could
kill her alone.
There had always been something missing in her life, she felt that she
was a part of a circle that someone had pulled apart.
She held the necklace in her hand and closed her eyes, then she tock a
step, a step out, a step against peace.
I wish that I just could have got to know where I truly belonged......
Geri fell down.- No!!!!!!!!!!!!!Geri screamed, she sat up in her bead.
She was sweating and her face was all wet, by tears?
She couldn’t breath, was it all a dream?!
She could really feel the pain she had felt, it had been so real.
Well, maybe she had supposed to be with the Spice Girls, atleast for a while.
Maybe it was her destiny to go out as solo spice.
Geri shock her head, it was a dream, wake up, you are just
desperate for some comfort.
Then she felt something in her hand, a golden hart necklace, ripped apart.
She hugged it in her hand and looked out at the sky.
- Now I know, know where I belong.
