Chocolate Martini takes the straight martini and adds an alcoholic twist for those with a sweet tooth. Definitely a hit with the female tasters! To create the chocolate martini, take the following ingredients and mix in a shaker. Pour immediately over an ice cube in a martini glass and serve immediately and definitely without an olive.
3 oz. Smirnoff vodka, 1 ½ oz. Crème de Cacao
If you are like Xenia Onnatop and like your drink straight up with a twist, why not consider Vanilla Vodka? Simply take vodka and a vanilla pod, and combine them as below... remember, the longer you let them combine, the stronger the vanilla flavor, but you may not want to wait too long.
3 oz. Smirnoff vodka, 2 Vanilla Pods, Freeze and serve ice cold or as part of a martini.
Another Vodka variation, is the brightly coloured and pungent Saffron Vodka. Combine Vodka with saffron stalks; use good quality saffron for an improved flavor and leave to flavor at room temperature for a week. Then a couple of hours before serving freeze. Don't keep this one in a freezer all the time as the saffron affects the freezing point leading to ice crystals within the vodka!
3 oz. Smirnoff vodka, 5-10 strands of saffron according to strength Freeze and serve over ice.
