I saw The Faculty about a week after it came out in theaters. From the commericials I saw I honestly expected the movie to be lame and unappealing. Boy, was I wrong! It was spectacular. All of the acting was awesome, the effects were pretty good, and I esspecially loved the characters. They weren't all the same - they were mixtures of different groups I see everyday at school. Loners, outcasts, jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, stoner, you name it! I really connected with these characters - which I can't say about most characters in films. I really cared about what happened to each of them.

I like mysterious and suspenseful movies. I enjoy trying to figure out the killer (or in this case, the alien) in movies. It gives my brain a challenge as I am watching for entertainment. The first time I saw The Faculty I couldn't quite figure out who the killer was. My friend, who I saw it with, said about half way through that she though Marybeth was the alien since she first came to the school right around the same time everything was happening. Then it all made sense. I was sure that Marybeth was the one - then I got side tracked. Especially during the part they were in Zeke's house doing the drugs because when Marybeth "took it" nothing happened. Then I thought Deliliah was the queen, etc, etc. In other words: It threw me off. The movie slapped me in the face by winding my brain around, confusing me, and then showing me I was really right all along. Interesting and fun.

As I walked out of the theatre I was like WOW! I saw the movie a second time, taking a recorder into the theater to record the sound so I could listen to it over and over. It then occurred to me that I should start a webpage to honor one of my favorite movies.

I've done webpages on bands in the past but I've never done any on a movie until now. Before I started to create the site I searched for faculty web pages to get an idea what was already out there. All I really found were pictures, links, and info. I wanted to do something that no one already had so I decided to take some of my favorite scenes from the audio recording I made earlier and add it to the site. Then I thought it'd be cool if I added a fan interpreted script to the site based on the recording I made. I knew I had to think of a name and I was in a block for a few days. I wanted something other than "Em's Faculty Page" or a name that was already taken. One day as I was walking in my school I saw the sign on the door to the faculty's lounge. Then it hit me: The Faculty Lounge. It was perfect for my site. After about a week of staying up until 1am The Faculty Lounge was born. It wasn't as complete and high tech as it is now because I didn't have many graphics but it had the documents. It was probably the 3rd fan site out at the time and all the Faculty info seeking fans went to the 1st Faculty Fan Site which was the most visited fan site.

I decided that if I ever wanted anyone to start coming to my site I would have to advertize a hell of a lot. So I did. I signed Faculty guestbooks, joined webrings, movie links, I went on yahoo and registered my site to be in their data base without much hope of ever getting on it. Finally when yahoo put me on their Faculty links section the people started pouring in. Then the next thing I knew I was getting over 100 hits a day and tons of feedback on the site.

Many people have given me information, pictures, and other stuff to help make this site grow. First and formost I'd like to thank Zippy who is responsible for all the logo graphics on this site (including the one above). Without him this site wouldn't have a lot of the high tech graphics you see. I really appreciate him taking the time/effort to help this site grow. Zippy also created the instructions on How to Make Scat.

My next big helper is Mr. Matthew who has supplied me with lots of information including the video and dvd release dates, a few pictures of the covers of the video/dvd cases, and more info.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this site. I really appreciate it. :)

I have receieved several e-mails asking if they can use stuff from my site on their own Faculty webpages. To save you the time, and me the stress, I am writing out all the legal shit down here so you don't have to ask me personally.

First of all if you want to use my script or sounds on your own page then FORGET IT. These documents took me a very long time to get together so I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't use those for your own page. The script and sounds are the two main things that other pages don't have (other sites are now interpreting the script and making their own sounds but just know that this site was the first to do so) and if I distributed them out freely then my page wouldn't have any thing special and origional and would be like the many other Faculty pages out there. If I find any of these two documents on your pages I will have to hassle you until you remove them from your page. And trust me, I can be EXTREMELY annoying if I want to be :p. A few people who have taken some of my things know this. But all is good now and we're friends. Well, maybe not friends, but let's just say I keep a close eye on them. Hehe.

So that is the story of the making of the Faculty Lounge. I can't believe you're still reading this. HA HA HA!
