Jon Cryer attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has since worked in virtually every part of the entertainment industry from television and radio to Broadway and feature films.

He played David in the Los Angeles and Broadway productions of the Tony Award winning TORCH SONG TRILOGY and also worked on Broadway in BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, off Broadway in Jules Feiffer's CARNAL KNOWLEDGE.

Cryer has appeared in numerous feature films including NO SMALL AFFAIR with Demi Moore, HIDING OUT, HOT SHOTS! and very memorably as Duckie in PRETTY IN PINK.

"He was just the teenage archetype - 'Nerd'.", Cryer once said in an interview. "For me, it was an aspirational thing. To be so proud of being such a nerd. Duckie was so cool... He was so uncool he was cool. I wish I was that cool in high school."

He has worked extensively in television, including starring in the Emmy award winning series THE FAMOUS TEDDY Z, and Fox's sitcoms PARTNERS and GETTING PERSONAL.

WENT TO CONEY ISLAND ON A MISSION FROM GOD... BE BACK BY FIVE marks his second feature as both writer and producer with partner, Richard Schenkman who together created their earlier collaboration, THE POMPATUS OF LOVE.

He was recently seen in Touchstone's HOLY MAN with Eddie Murphy and Jeff Goldblum.
