his biography isn't quiet right, there are things missing, glossed over, probably deliberately. knew roger way back in '54-'55. one of my mates served under him in army (10 years older than me, I was mere lad of 8 or so?) even robert hardy served under hi (our fav yorkshire vet)and windsor davis (yes, THAT one. he was a sergeant of some repute then, not our fav singer/ storyteller. I grew to love that bloke, he used to sit and tell us stories of moglie and sher chan). they were all in kenya, fighting the au mau. this is never mentioned. nor is it mentioned that roger paved the way for robert hardy's career (and tought him to read?write and appreciate poetry, incidently) and robert paved the way for roger's roll in ivanhoe. they both came up to my mate's p ace in beckenham after doing their film-test. this was first time robert and my mate jimmy had met since kenya and it got rather emotional, robert (actually timothy) having had a rather rough time of it, regarding his combat stress (they did a lot of kill ng in hand to hand combat, even roger). often met roger's mum and dad, had tea etc. did you know that his dad was the roll-model for dixon of dock green? it was said so. roger very nearly became a mercenary you know. he was just about treading water econo ically and his career in modeling was nearly over. what was he to do in life? he got so far as to go for an interview...and was offered an immediate commission! that never happened before. he was very highly regarded. I know this because my mate jimmy was a mercenary and fixed the interview. but then roger was offered ivanhoe...thank you god. we were THAT close...to never seeing simon, brett, and 007...PHEW! have re-written 'the day of the jackal' and sent a copy to freddie forsyth and even roger. no reply from roger yet, freddie's playing it cagey, pretending it never happened, but i had hoped to get him to republish end give the money to roger, for one of his charities. maybe later perhaps. what has this got to do with roger? my mate, the mercenary, the o e who served under him, WAS the jackal. no kidding! perhaps this is why the silence regarding that period, too many skeletons could get turned up, not that roger has to be ashamed of anything, he's done now't like that. on the contrary, he's a bloody hero in my eyes. my niece once said that roger was 'close to royalty' in the eyes of his public...couldn't have said it better myself. maybe one day his public will know just how true that is. have to go now, times up!

Ok, while Roger Moore had that certain 'je ne sais quois' quality that most women find appealing, (I'm cursed with the same thing), Sean Connery (although Scottish...noone's perfect)was tough. Oh how the times are changing. Dalton (although I took an inst nt disliking to him) turned out to be quite alright, even if he was named after a street in Birmingham (actually, I thought his acting was better in the English films he made..like 'Framed'). Pierce Brosnan is an imposter, and the other Bonds should get ogether and beat him up. Trust me, I am an authority on this subject.

Excellent R.M. site "Ms. Ned"! I've watched Roger Moore for over 35 years and he has always been my favorite actor. There are very few actors that possess Roger's screen presence. Although I like any work that Roger has done, I have to say that my all ti e favorite TV series to date is "The Persuaders". The on-screen chemistry between Moore and Curtis is like Nitro and Glycerine (to paraphrase the Judge--Judge Fulton). It's really too bad that the actors didn't get along and the show stopped after only season. Does anyone know whether the series is being shown in syndication anywhere in the world? Anyways, I would love to see a Roger Moore Fan Club formed in the near future.

I think that Roger is the best actor that stars in the James Bond Movies. But he is unknown to so many people. I once wanted to do a research on him for school and, no books in the library, and the only person who knew who Roger was, was my TEACHER! He is the best actor and he is forgoten just cause people don't take interest in older movies. The only channel that even plays those movies is Superstation. And NO ONE EVEN WATCHES THAT STATION (with the exeption of me). How old those movies are, they are much better than these new James Bond ones.(A good movie doesn't have to be new!) Well I am glad that someone actually knows him and apriciates him and I hope that Roger will not be forgoten over time.
