Latter Day Saints missionaries Tomberline (Corbin Allred) and Wood (Chris Bentley) are in a new area trying to spread their Christmas message, but no one wants to listen. Things are complicated when Tomberline sneaks out for the night after receiving a telegram, but won't reveal where he went, causing Wood to misjudge him. Things change as the companionship goes shopping for a Christmas tree. They meet a family and Tomberline bonds with their deaf son. This small act leads to several blessings for both the missionaries and the family.

The true mission of Christmas is portrayed in this story of two elders and their search for harmony and success. Each struggles and both discover that things are not always as they appear. Eventually it seems that the stars in heaven illuminate the way to genuine peace and joy.
