When I walked into this movie I was expecting one of those campy high school movies that have been popping up in increasing numbers recently. It turned out to be a dark comedy of the highest quality. It told the story of a high school election race only things have been horribly twisted. Reese Witherspoon plays that overachieving student that everyone hates. She begins by running unopposed but the student advisor played by Matthew Broderick, who is going through a midlife crisis adds a bizare twist to the election. I didn't expect where the film ended up and in conclusion I enjoyed it.
