Most of you won't recognize my name since I am more of a faithful reader than a poster! I am 42, married with 3 sons, 1 daughter, a daughter-in-law and a new granddaughter. I live in sunny south Florida and teach Computer Application skills at one of our local Elementary schools.
I have been watching DAYS since I was about 10... I really miss the old days of DAYS when romance was the main topic and a family was the core of every story. Because of family we will be moving back to Blissfield, Michigan after 12 years in Florida. I will have a very had time adjusting to the weather there again, especially since my favorite thing to do (after watching Days) is reading by the pool!
I read your postings everyday and love Dustin's and Callen's pages. Usually I agree with most of you but time prevents my replying back. I am a J & M fan, want Carrie to knock some sense into Austin (or kill him off, please) and I want Sami, Eric, Nicole, and Roman to disappear! And while they're at it bring back Billie (with spunk), and give Bo-Hope to Stefano as laboratory test animals... Enough ranting for now, see you on the board, Lauren
My name is Lisa, and I live in Tucson, AZ with my dear husband and sweet 5 year old son. I am a stay at home mom, beginning homeschooling this year. I'm 30 years old. I have a telecommunications background, as far as the "work force" goes, and I have also done transcription, and office management. I help my husband with a side business that we hope will one day be our full time business, so we can work for ourselves. The American Dream, right? We are looking to buy 20 acres north of town, so we'll be able to raise a calf every year or so, and chickens as well. Within two or three years, horses are in our plans, as well.
I have watched Days of Our Lives since before I can remember, because my mom has always watched it. She watched the first episode in 8th grade. I remember becoming really interested in about 8th grade myself, and watched faithfully every summer. As soon as I could drive, I would go home for lunch every day to catch the last half, since it was on from 11-12. This was during the height of Bo and Hope's reign. Now, you know you're hooked when you start re-arranging your schedule! When I moved away from home, I stopped watching for about 4 years, until I got a brilliant idea that I could record it and watch it later! I started watching about when Carly was buried alive, and I spent a lot of time wondering what happened to everybody I used to love. Shane, Kim, Kayla, Steve (Patch), Hope, and others were all gone. Bit by bit, I learned their fates, and stayed engrossed in the daytime drama ever since. Most days I will still record the show now, even though I'm home, to watch early the next morning before my son gets up, and also so I can FF through commercials and boring parts.
When I found this board, I was hooked immediately, I would read it almost every day, but it took me probably about 8 months to become a member and start posting. Everyone shared opinions without berating others, and I could read about my "missing 4 years". Now if I can only remember where I was during that time, and what I did for Stephano...
Hi, I'm Nancy Jo, I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pa. I've been watching DAYS since the very first episode, my first son was born in July of '65, and DAYS was my afternoon rest time. I've been married for 35 years and have two son 31 and 29. (my first son developed Leukemia and passed away when he as three years old). The 31 year old bought a house last year, so only one is still home.
I work as a faculty secretary, for the math department, at the Community College. We have a cottage in the mountains and my husband and I spend every weekend there, he works on projects and I read, fish and take walks in the woods. We have a wild" mamma" cat, in the mountains, who has had three litters under our toolshed. Last year she had two (a male and a female). We adopted the female and called her Cal. I can't wait until we retire and move full-time to the mountains so I can add two or three dogs to our family.
Hi My name is Renee. Ray is just a nick name. I live in AZ but was born in Ohio Aug of "72". Not really too much to say about myself. I am a proud mom of the best two kids in the world. Sarah 5 and Mike 4. We are in the kindergarten thing this year and boy is it different. Sarah is only gone for a couple of hours and when I pick her up from school she acts like she has aged a year since I dropped her off. John is my better half. We have been together for almost 10 years. We did things a little backwards. Had the kids first and get married later. Maybe in 4 years.
I have been watching Days ever since I could remember. My mom has watched from the first Day so I guess I could said I have watched since the womb. I always read all the posts and one day got up the nerve to join and have been loving it ever since. The people on this board are the nicest people I have ever meet on a soap board before and I am glad I joined.
I promise not to bore everyone, so I will make this as brief as possible.
I was born in Nashville, Tenn. in 1956. Except for four years while my dad was working for a construction company building a highway system in Afghanistan and a brief two-year stint living and working in New York City, I have lived in Nashville all my life.
I graduated from high school in 1975 and received my B.S. in Physics in 1979. I went back to a local community college and received my A.S. degree in data processing in 1984. The same year, I accepted a position as the applied sciences educator at a local science museum.
In 1988, I became the astronomy educator at the museum and was promoted to asst. planetarium director in 1990. Due to the stock market crash and reduction of state government funding, the museum (mid-year 1991) had to dramatically cut staff, of which I was one.
After fruitless searching for work in a planetarium, I decided to work part-time at the apartment complex where I live and go back to college to obtain my advanced degrees. I received my M.A.T. in 1994 and my Ed.D in 1996. Currently, I am teaching photography at a local community college.
I was married for two years. Unfortunately, the marriage ended in divorce in 1998. My ex-wife and I married each other for all the wrong reasons, and her career demanded her being away from home a great deal, so we went our separate ways.
I began watching DOOL back in the early 1980's while I was working on the A.S. degree. I got hooked on the show BIG TIME! I was also a big General Hospital fan, but stopped watching GH after the Scorpio and Anna characters left the show.
I spend what little free time I have going to the movies or watching movies at home, watching DOOL, taking photographs, hanging out with my friends, occasional dating, and surfing the net (including posting with all of you!).
There you have it...42 years in a nutshell!
