STORY: Ellen asks her brother Paul to retrieve a packet of her love letters from Marlow, a blackmailer, to save her husband's political career. Paul and neighbor Marcel, a safecracker, break into Marlow's office and steal the letters, which Ellen had written to Marlow as a naive university student. Marcel is shot and dumps the letters in the alley. Paul decides to track down the letters, which ended up in a shipment to a Museum. Once in Los Angeles, Paul assumes the disguise of a blind man, buying Ace, a guide dog, and ingratiating himself with Julia Fraser, the museum's assistant curator, who, out of compassion, grants him permission to study all the exhibits. Mitch, a cohort of Marlow, murders a museum janitor and plants one of his men, Taggart, in the vacated position. When Taggart is unable to infiltrate the collection, they hire Paul to do the job. Paul learns that the letters are on Julia's desk. Ace and Paul, who has confessed is impersonation to Julia, break into the museum and burn the letters before Mitch and his gang arrive. Caught as he is leaving, Paul struggles with Mitch, and Ace receives a gunshot wound. After Paul takes Ace to the vet, he arrested for stealing the letters and sent to prison for a year. He is released to a loving Julia and a recuperated Ace.
