STORY:   Lanny Morgan, Annabel Allison's publicist, decides her career needs reviving when movie star Natalie Preston outscores Annabel in a popularity contest. Lanny sends Annabel flowers using a calling card of Viscount Ronald River-Clyde, as a stunt. Annabel calls the viscount and insists on a rendezvous. The confused Ronald, who is a happily married man, is convinced by Lanny to indulge Annabel as a way of securing publicity for his new novel. Lovestruck, Annabel decides to give up show business and go off with the viscount, but Lanny talks her into making one more public appearance. After announcing her retirement and introducing the viscount, a woman and child rush up on stage and declare that they are the viscount's wife and son. Annabel sees through the ruse, but then is forced to confront the real Mrs. River-Clyde and her four children, who appear with lawyers and papers. The studio head, Lanny and Annabel flee to the train station, followed by an angry viscount and his family. Both parties get on the train, but the caboose in which Annabel and company are hiding detaches and rolls off into the sunset.
