STORY: Ten year old violin prodigy Ronald Kimball's stepmother and two aunts settle a lawsuit regarding his custody, then agree that he can go to Hollywood to make a film, as long as it doesn't interfere with his Radio broadcasts. After he is forbidden from playing football with the studio kids and the pool has been drained so he'll have more time to practice, Ronald locks his instructor in the closet and escapes out a window. The instructor thinks that Ronald has been kidnapped and the radio reports that the Gollenger Gang is suspected. Meanwhile, Ronnie gets the nickname "Scrapper" after fighting a bully and makes friends with a dog. Ronnie meets Duke, a likeable bagman for the Gollenger Gang, who tells Ronnie that he is a G-Man, and helps Duke fix a flat tire. While delivering money to the gang at Pinecrest Lodge, Duke hears a radio report about Ronnie, and convinced the kid is "hot" they part. Ronnie finds Dukes wallet, and Duke hits railroad President Benjamin P. Robbin's car, he pays for the damage with money from the satchel. Ronnie rides to Pinecrest in a policeman's car, where he makes friends with Tom Cotter and his sweetheart Jean, Robbin's daughter. Meanwhile, Robbin's chauffeur is arrested for using the money he got from Duke. At the lodge, Ronnie calls home and the call is traced. The police and Ronnie's guardians fly to Pinecrest and arrive with men investigating the chauffeur's bill, which is from a Chicago robbery. During a fight Duke is shot trying to protect Ronnie. Ronnie then shoots Gollenger in the hand with a slingshot, and Robbins and Tom join in. The gang is captured and Ronnie cries as Duke is carried out. The guardian's promise Ronnie that hte pool will be filled and that he can play with the studio kids.
