Sarah Michelle Gellar When you think "scream queen", a
few names come to mind -- Jamie Lee Curtis, for one. Soon, there'll be another name to add
to that list. She's rising fast, she's beautiful, she's talented. . .she's the Vampire
Slayer. . .Sarah Michelle Gellar. While Sarah's acting career started when she was 4, the 20-year-old
actress got her "big break" on the ABC soap opera All My Children. While
with the soap she recieved a Daytime Emmy nomination in 1994 and in 1995 grabbed the award
for Best Younger Leading Actress. The day after the Emmy win, she made her decision to
leave the show public. . .she was off to sunny California to seek roles in TV and the
Movies. In 1996, Sarah was chosen for the title role in the new WB series "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer", based on the 1992 movie of the same name. The pilot got the highest ratings of any premier on the new WB network, and new episodes started airing in September. The series was the perfect vehicle to land her the role in the new teen mystery flick "I Know What You Did Last Summer", which also stars Jennifer Love Hewitt from "Party of Five". The film tells the story of what happens to four high-school buddies who try to cover up a dark secret from their summer vacation. The movie debuted at #1, and is still doing well in theaters. In January, Sarah will be seen once again in theaters, with another "Party of Five" fave: She will play Neve Campbell's college roommate in the sequel to last year's blockbuster, "Scream". This is already one of the most anticipated sequels in recent memory, and should definitely firm-up Sarah's position as a Hollywood "Scream Queen". . . |
