James Bond used this car in Sardinia to travel with Anya Amasova while they were posing as Mr. and Mrs. Sterling. After touring Stromberg's underwater operation, Bond decides he needs a closer look and in the process, eludes a couple of Stromberg's thugs. First, the goon on the motorcycle is dusted when his missile strikes a mattress truck and sends him off a cliff. Jaws and a car full of flunkies are next as their chase attempt is thwarted when 007 sprays wet cement all over their windshield. Finally, Bond fools Naomi in a helicopter as he ditches into the sea. Unknowing her fate is seconds away, she smiles at the sight of the submerged Lotus right before a sea-to-air missile from the car tears through the helicopter.
