For the high-paced chase down Louisiana's Bayou, James Bond used this Glastron Speedboat to elude the opposition. The boat is powered with a supercharger which enabled the craft to travel at very high speeds. 007 utilized this through the twists and turns of the river and even through the air as Bond had to jump Sheriff Pepper's squad car! A pursuing goon's attempt to clear the jump, however, fell short, as he came crashing down on the police car.

Production Notes- The jump by Bond's Glastron speedboat set a new world record of 120 feet.

The second boat that crashed into Sheriff Pepper's police car was not on the original script. When trying to make the jump, the boat hit the ramp at a wrong angle and ended up hitting the police car. The producers liked the misfortune so much they decided to keep it in the film.

The scene where several boats traveled over land at the wedding scene was almost scrapped after several of the attempts to clear the inlet were unsuccessful. On the first few tries, the boat drivers kept crashing into trees on the inlet of land. Fearing potential injury to the stuntmen, producers nearly cut the stunt.

The hang gliding scene above Solitaire's palace was originally scripted for Diamonds are Forever. However, the screenwriters resurrected the scene for Live and Let Die.
