Episode #110 - "The Scare"
In the first scene, Joey and Dawson are watching I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Joey wants to turn it off because she's, according to Dawson, a "scaredy-cat wimp". When she changes it to Jerry Maguire, he disappears and then pops up from under his bed, scaring Joey. They find out that there is a killer on the loose in Capeside. The next day, Dawson tries to convince everyone that he's not going to do any Friday the 13th pranks, but then at lunch he invites them all to a seance at his house. Jen says she can't come cuz she has a date with Cliff. Cliff asks Dawson for advice on what to do, and Dawson tells Cliff that Jen loves to be scared (which couldn't be more untrue), and that he should bring her to the seance.
At a convinent store getting stuff for the seance, Joey stays in the car and this guys comes up to her asking for directions. They start talking, but then Pacey and Dawson come out of the store, along with a woman who got them some wine, and chase the guy away. The woman's violent boyfriend tries to take her home, but Pacey lets her get in his car and come to Dawson's house. Meanwhile, Jen got a note in her locker saying "You are going to die tonight", and a scary phone call (like the one in Scream).
When Jen gets to Dawson's house, Dawson plays pranks on everyone but her. During the seance, the lights go out and everybody freaks out. Dawson goes down to check the fuse box with the woman, and she tells him that he should be with Joey. When he comes back up, Pacey and Joey trick Dawson into thinking that Joey died. Jen repeatedly asks Dawson why he called her, and he keeps insisting that he didn't, saying that he had "crossed her off his list" off people to play pranks on. They almost kiss, and Jen says that he should put her back on his lists. Then the woman's boyfriend comes to the house, and trys to kill them all. After chasing them around, Joey hits him on the head with a frying pan and he leaves with his girlfriend. After everyone leaves, Joey asks Dawson if he would be sad if she died, and he says that he would be "inconsolable". He asks her the same question, and she gives him the same answer. Then they go to sleep.
