500-400 BC - Saddle Blanket
A saddle Blanket belonging to Kurgan I of Pazyryk from the Altai Mountains in Central Asia. It features felt applique depicting a bird attacking a horned animal. the animals are in browns and blues on a rust colored background. The image is mirrored so that it would hang on both sides of the horse. It measures 119 x 60 cm.
