9 - 18 inch blocks
Blocks will be quilted and joined as we go along.
This quilt can be completed by hand or machine or a combination.
Supplies to always have: scissors, needles, pins, machine, hoop or frame for quilting.
Each block requires batting cut to a minimum of 18.5 by 18.5 but it is recommended to cut the batting an inch or two larger in case of slippage. It can always be trimmed later on.
Each block requires a block of backing cut to 18.5 by 18.5 inches.
Block 1 - whole cloth block (choice of patterns)- Quilting
Supplies: 18.5 by 18.5 inch square for background of block, thread
Block 2 - Railroad tracks (choice of patterns)- straight piecing
Supplies: 2 fat quarters, 1 light, 1 dark, thread for sewing pieces and for basting and quilting.
Block 3 - Snails (choice of patterns) - piecing Triangles and Squares
Supplies: 2 fat quarters, 1 light, 1 dark, thread for sewing pieces and for basting and quilting.
Block 4 - Dead Mans Curve (choice of patterns) - Piecing curves
Supplies - 2 fat quarters, 1 light, 1 dark, thread for sewing pieces and for basting and quilting.
Block 5 - Sunbonnet Somebody (choice of patterns) - Simple Applique
Supplies - 18.5 by 18.5 square of fabric for background of block.

Block 6 - Flowers (choice of patterns) - Complex Applique
Supplies - 18.5 by 18.5 square of fabric for background of block.

Block 7 - Using tubes to make lines (choice of patterns)- Bias Tube Applique
Supplies - 18.5 by 18.5 square of fabric for background of block.

Block 8 - Black, Blue and Red Work (choice of patterns)- Embroidered blocks
Supplies - 18.5 by 18.5 square of fabric for background of block.
6 strand Embroidery floss in sufficient quantity and colors to complete the design. Thread to baste and quilt with.
Block 9 - Craziness (choice of patterns) - Crazy Quilt block
Supplies - fabric scraps left over from other blocks, embroidery floss or thread for machine embroidering, thread to sew pieces together, baste and quilt with. Optional: buttons or charms.

2.5 by 6.5 (24 per side) multi colors (6 to 8 colors), fat quarters or fabric scraps
6.5 by 6.5 corner blocks (cut 4)
6.5 by 66 backing pieces for the borders (note longer than 66 in recommended as they can always be trimmed later.)
6.5 by 66 batting pieces for the borders (note a couple of inches larger is recommended in case of slippage. It can always be trimmed later)
