Welcome to my page about the coolest X-woman around. This is still under construction, but be patient, as there is more to come. A special thanks to Ted Bragg for letting me use some of his fabulous art.
Vital Stats:
- First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #129
- Real Name: Katherine Pryde
- Nicknames/Codenames: Sprite, Ariel, Kitty, Shadowcat
- Recommended Reading: Uncanny X-Men #129, 168, 313; Kitty and Wolverine #1-4 (a fabulous mini-series where Kitty learns to be a ninja); God Loves, Man Kills graphic novel (One of the more powerful X-related stories out there.); "The Girls School from Heck" and "Cross Time Caper" storylines in Excalibur
- Why I love Kitty Pryde: The appeal of Kitty is that we can see a little bit of her in ourselves. As we watched her grow up from a scared, uncertain 14 year old into a confident woman, we saw her struggle with shyness, a crush on an older "unattainable" man, and other such teen dilemmas, and we identified with her. We recognized the pain of adolescence, related it to our own experience (after all, who really liked high school that much), and loved her all the more as she worked through it.
