Now Tobey says he "hates" R.D. and Leo says he's been "betrayed". What in the world could have led our lil' Leo getting hot under the collar? Well, it seems that the film was only suppose to be very short, and could only be turned into a full length movie with Leo and Tobey's step-by-step input and approval. It seems R.D. forgot all about this agreement and has made Don's Plum into a full-length 89 minute feature, and the boys aren't too happy at all. It all got very nasty and the cast and crew have been argueing ever since.
The film was shot in an actual San Fernando Valley diner named Don's Plum which, now, has sold and renamed. A group of mates and their girlfriends sit around a table and have witty conversations about life, their personalities and their phobias. Leo plays a character he partly improvised called, Derek, who is an angry man with all sorts of things going on about women and his friends
The latest speculation is that Leo will not allow the film to be released because he is frightened it may tarnish his good guy image and has threatened to file a lawsuit against R.D. So, will we ever get to see Leo's missing flicks? We'll see about that.
Think you have seen every single one of Leonardo's movies? Well, then think again! In July 1995, Leo and his close buddies including Tobey Maguire starred in the groovy black and white Don's Plum free of charge as a favour for filmmaker pal R.D. Dobb.
