Brief Character History: Ben is a tall, dark, & mysterious Englishmen with a past. Ben became a widower five years ago when his wife, Maria, died suddenly in a boating accident. Ben is haunted by her memory. Before Maria died, Ben discovered a secret about her that he hasn’t shared with anyone else. On the night of Maria's death anniversary Ben met Meg over the internet where they corresponded as "SB" and "Dorothy from Kansas". Meg came to Sunset Beach looking for "SB" and fell in love with Ben before she realized he was "SB". After all the trouble Annie and Tim caused to try and break up Ben and Meg, Ben's twin brother, Derek, came to town looking for revenge. Ben was kidnapped by Derek and held prisoner in a warehouse. Derek thought he succeeded in having his brother creamated, but Ben managed to stay alive finding himself prisoner to Diane, a crazy mortician who thought he was a man named Steele from her romance novel. After he finally escaped Diane he was arrested for the Terror Island murders, but with the help of Gabi, Antonio, and Cole, he escaped from jail and came to Meg's rescue from the real Terror Island murderer, Derek.
