Brief Character History: Emily came to Sunset Beach looking to become a lifeguard. She literally bumped into Sean Richards and he wanted to find out more about her, so he also tried out to become a lifegaurd. Emily and Sean grew to like each other. Brad, another rookie trying to become a lifeguard pushed Emily during qualifying, but no one saw. Emily didn't make the cut, so Sean gave up his position so Emily could be a lifeguard. Emily's mother lives in Sunset Beach, and they barely know each other. Bette did not know that Emily was in town because Emily had been avoiding her. Emily and Bette reunited on a cruise. Bette never knew how Emily felt towards her actions. In the end, Emily forgave her mother for everything and they are beginning to make up for lost time. Emily decided to stay in Sunset Beach and live with her mother. Also on the cruise Emily's relationship with Sean was no longer just a friendship, they became really close and now they are dating.
