Sound Gallery

Welcome to a new section of Ultimation Central, the Sound Gallery. I've wanted to put up a sound gallery for a while, but my Real Encoder wouldn't install correctly. Well, I finally got it to work. Someday, I'll get lyrics put up for all of these, but in the meantime, enjoy!

Just a small note - due to the number of CDs I've been accumulating lately, I've decided to group these files into two categories: Action (though some many not be action - this is basically anything you can set a fight scene to) and Emotion (though some may not be emotional - they're just not fighting music either).

Another quick note: the six new songs here were made on a pretty old laptop, so the quality may not be up to par. If they aren't, just tell me. I can remake them once I get back home. I will also try to get more lyrics up then.

Action Music

  • Toki o Koete (Beyond Time) from the CD "Super Robot Wars F Original Sound Track and Arrange Album".

  • Yuusha Ou Tanjou! (The Brave King is Born!) from the 1997 Animation Best Collection Volume 2. It is the Brave King Gaogaigar OP.

  • Atsuki Hi Ga Yuuki Ni (Translation?) from the CD "Super Robot Wars F Original Sound Track and Arrange Album". A cool song, a sort of retrospective song about the Super Robot Wars fight, I think. What makes it all that much cooler is that it is sung by Mizuki Ichirou, the famous singer of songs from Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger.

  • Flying in the Sky from the CD "Super Robot Wars Robonation.1: Vocal Collection". My personal favorite from that CD. It is the first G Gundam OP, remixed by Kageyama Hironobu, who is fast becoming one of my favorite singers.

  • Tobe! Gandamu (Fly! Gundam) from the CD "Gundam Singles History". The very first OP for the Gundam series, it still has that 70s ring to it. Very catchy.

  • Anime Ja Nai (It's Not Anime) from the CD "Gundam Singles History". The first OP for ZZ Gundam. A humorous song about a kid who saw something amazing in the sky, but all the adults he tells think he just saw it on TV or read it in a manga.

  • Tatakau Watashi (I Who Fights) from the CD "Super Robot Wars Vocal Collection Heroes: Cockpit of Steel". The theme song for Patricia Huckman, one of eight original characters in Super Robot Wars 4 / Super Robot Wars F. Out of the eight characters, only two do not lend their voices for songs on this CD (though the other two do provide monologues as bonus tracks).

  • Stand Up to the Victory from the CD "Gundam Singles History II". The first OP to V Gundam. This is my favorite song of all time. You just gotta love the awesome beat and optimistic tone. It brings me great pleasure to share this one with all of you. Get this song.

  • HEATS from the CD "Getta Robo Shin Vocals". Another great song by Kageyama Hironobu, this is the second (and main) OP to Shin Getta Robo. An infectious rythmic song.

  • Yume Iro Cheisaa (Dream Colored Chaser) from a Mami Ayukawa CD I bought on a whim. This is the same lady who does the first OP to Z Gundam, so you know it's good. This is considered by many to be her best song. It is the first OP to the real robot anime Dragonar.

    Emotion Music

  • Itsuka Hoshi no Umi de (Someday, In the Sea of Stars) from the 1997 Animation Best Collection Volume 2. It is the Gaogaigar ED.

  • Mizu no Hoshi e Ai o Komete (Love Reaching Beyond the Planet of Water) from the CD "Super Robot Wars Robonation.1: Vocal Collection". Another favorite. Originally the 2nd OP theme from Z Gundam, remixed by MIO, who sang many 80s OPs like Dunbine and L-Gaim. Used to just be a normal pop song without the bossa nova influences.

  • Kaze ni Hitori de (Alone in the Wind) from the CD "Gundam Singles History". Slow, powerful song, especially where it was used in Gundam Movie II, in the memorial scene for Operation Odessa following the deaths of Matilda and Ryu. A personal favorite.

  • Uchuu Seiki 0080 (Universal Century 0080 (Double-oh Eighty)) from the CD "Gundam 0080 Sound Sketch II". The last BGM from the 0080 OAV series. Upbeat, yet surprisingly powerful for those who have seen the series. It stands well by itself, but it just gains so much more meaning if you've actually gone out and seen the series.

  • Eternal Wind from the CD "Gundam Singles History II". Nice, sweet love song that was the main theme to the movie Gundam F91. The movie may be bad, but this song is awesome.

  • Eien no Tobira (Eternal Door) from the CD "Gundam Singles History III". This is the main theme to the movie Gundam 08th MS Team: Miller's Report. Once again, a series that I personally don't care for, but an awesome song to back it up. A strong beat and sweet lyrics.

  • Trust You Forever from the CD "Gundam Singles History II". The second OP to G Gundam, this one takes a different approach from the optimistic "Flying in the Sky" and speaks to the power of friendship. Laid back, and very entertaining.
