(Love & her mom)
Love & hew mom
In late March 1989, a month after moving to Los Angeles for the purpose of getting into show business, Love Hewitt was offered a spot on the sixth season of an absolutely heavenly TV show called "Kids Incorporated". It was not a moment too soon because Love had come from Texas with her mom to spend a month in the L.A. area auditioning & trying to find work in show business. The trip had been a birthday present for precocious Love, who had just turned 10 on the 21st of February. Within a day of that one month experiment coming to a close, the producers of the show, who had auditioned some 1,500 promising talented young ladies for the part placed a call to the one single individual they considered the most capable, talented & best suited for starring role as "Robin". Fortunately for Love, that girl was not available to do Kids Incorporated due to her having landed another part on another show, so they reviewed the audition results once more & selected the next most capable, talented & best suited contestant. This time, the girl they called was available, & interested. That capable & talented contestant was none other than the recently turned 10 year old Love Hewitt.

(Love as Robin)

From then until 1991, Love sang, danced, performed & generally charmed her way through nearly 40 episodes of the show as "Robin". During this time she was called on to endorse over a dozen different nationally advertised products, including: Chex cereal, L.A. Gear, Pepsi, & Matel.

In 1991 she performed in a kids' exercise video called "Dance! Workout With Barbie", for which she sang 6 songs specifically written for her." Love's numerous thrilling vocal performances on Kids Incorporated captured the attention of a music industry talent scout who signed her to record her first solo album,
"Love Songs". As a direct result of Love's consistently exciting performances with the Kids Incorporated group, she had made connections to major advertisers & promoters & starred in a video as well as recorded her first album, though she was still not yet a household word.
In a recent TV interview, Love was quoted as saying: "I think Party Of 5 has EVERYTHING to do with it." However in my opinion, (& Love if you're reading this, don't take it the wrong way), I think Kids Incorporated has EVERYTHING to do with it !

If you've ever had the pleasure of watching this stunning masterpiece of "cute pre-teen" entertainment overflowing with budding talent, you'll surely agree that it was Kids Incorporated & not Party Of Five that launched Love to stardom. If you've never seen the show, I urge you to jump at any opportunity to catch even a single episode. Kids Incorporated was a truly phenomenal experience, which sadly was taken off the air in 1993, so the only remaining hope may be to visit Tracy's Kids Inc site & sign the petition to bring the show back.
