Alright I know that there are beginning to be a lot of really crappy snowboarding games and quite frankly too many. The only thing is, Cool Boarders 3 is different. First of all there is a good amount of runs(6 hills with 6 different events each), a good original collection of characters, and a great amount of looker tricks. The graphics are also a huge step over its predecessor. While controlling your character you can punch right and left, switch, crouch, grind, flip, and much, much more. The presentation of the game is also very good with some good opening and selecting music along with beautiful looking mountains like Powder Hill, Mount Everest, and Devil's Butt( yeah I'm telling the truth).

The graphics as I said are a big jump up from the first two. The characters are good looking and the backgrounds are up to par with 1080 on the 64. Most of the obstacles and jumps look realistic although the trees probably could have been a little better, since when you get close enough they just look like paint blots. And you couldn't have a good boarding game without some good tunes. The music in the game is great. Guitars and bass bring memories of Jet Moto back. The sound effects are also pretty darn good. Carving the powder or ice are two distinct sounds and your player will scream or yell when they fall. A good flesh hitting sound is given with the punch and is actually kind of funny. The controls are very easy to get used to also. To do a trick or combo you simply have to push a direction and button. You can hold tail grab while doing a 1080 for some major combo points. The Big Air, Half Pipe, Boarder X, and Freestule modes are great for catching some major air. While the slalom gives some more of the racing aspect for you speed demons. I don't how many exactly, tricks there are but there are millions of high point combos. Trying to pull off something that you think would look cool also adds months of gameplay since it adds more skill to the game instead of just randomly pushing buttons.

Overall, the game is a must have for any of you boarding fans and actually a good pick-up for any Playstation owner. It promises months of gameplay for yourself and/or a friend. It is worth buying unless you wanna use the cheats and rent, bum licker cheaters, which i wouldn't do. It really ruins the experience.
