I was given a daily devotion booklet at Parashute Festival and I thought that I might share a few of these devotions that have touched and helped me.

"When you are temped, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
Handling Temptation
Listen carefully to this essay by Portia Nelson. "I walk down the street. There's a hole in the pavement and I fall in. I'm lost; it isn't my fault. It takes me forever to get out. I walk down the street again. There's a hole in the pavement, but I pretend I don't see it, so I fall in again. I can't believe I'm in the same place; still, it isn't my fault . I walk down the street again. There's a hole in the pavement. I see it, but i still fall in - it's a habbit. But now my eyes are open and I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately. I walk down the street. There's a hole in the pavement. I walk around it! Finally, I walk down another street!"
If you're tired of walking down the same street and falling into the same hole, then God has provided a way out for you - another street! That's why Paul says "Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation are more that words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them thoughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out" (Eph 6:13-18 TM). Now these are words worthy of your consideration today!
