This movie opens with an amazing scene. A couple is having a picnic in a grassy field, when they're suddenly thrown into a life and death situation. It happens so quickly and chaotically, that there's no time for anyone to think. Then a man falls to his death. It's handled so quietly from a distance followed by a closeup that made me rewind to see it again because it looked so real. I was left wondering how in the world they filmed it given the smallish budget. I was also wondering where the movie was going after this. I liked the idea of Joe falling apart due to the guilt, but then it mixed in the thriller aspect as Joe was stalked by Jed. I've never been a fan of stalker movies, but I liked this one a bit because it was more than that. I'm still not sure why Claire was so indifferent about Joe's stalker and didn't do more to save their relationship, but I guess she paid for it in the end. --Bill Alward, October 16, 2005
